Fatal rollover crash claims life of young man in Cascade County

A tragic incident occurred on Saturday, August 9, 2025, in Great Falls where a vehicle rollover crash claimed the life of a young man. The accident took place around 9:50 p.m. close to the junction of US Highway 89 and Hughesville Road, just south of Monarch. The Montana Highway Patrol reported that a 36-year-old woman driving a Jeep Wrangler lost control while negotiating a curve on Hughesville Road. The Jeep veered off the road, rolled several times, and eventually landed in a creek bed. Regrettably, the 19-year-old male passenger from Great Falls lost his life in the accident, while the driver, who sustained undisclosed injuries, was transported to Benefis Health System for treatment. The victim's identity has not been released yet. The MHP's preliminary report suggests that the deceased was wearing a seatbelt, while it remains uncertain whether the driver had one on.
