
Fatal plane crash in Lee County claims family of 4
In Sanford, North Carolina, tragic news broke as a family of four lost their lives in a small plane crash in Lee County on Monday afternoon. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol were alerted to the incident which occurred in the vicinity of Valley View Drive and Lower Moncure Road, just northeast of Sanford. Authorities confirmed that the aircraft, a Cirrus SR22, was based at the Raleigh Executive Jetport a few miles north of the crash site. The victims were identified as 35-year-olds Travis and Candace Buchanan, along with their two children, 10-year-old Aubrey and nine-year-old Walker. The NCSHP reported that three individuals perished at the scene, while the fourth was transported to a local hospital and later pronounced deceased. The National Transportation Safety Board will conduct an investigation with an assigned investigator expected to arrive at the crash site tomorrow.
