
Fatal plane crash in Greenwood
Authorities in Greenwood have confirmed that one individual tragically lost their life in a plane accident that took place on Wednesday. The Greenwood Fire Department received a call about the aircraft crash at the intersection of Main Street and South Park Boulevard around 10:47 a.m. Initial information indicated that a small plane had gone down behind the Circle K gas station on East Main Street in Greenwood. Upon reaching the scene, firefighters discovered the small aircraft had crashed behind the gas station. The pilot, who was the only person onboard, was declared deceased at the crash site. Details about the plane's starting point, destination, and the reason for the crash are currently unavailable. The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board have been informed, are on their way, and will lead the investigation.
