Fatal pileup closes parts of I-15 near Blue Diamond Rd.
A tragic incident occurred on the I-15 Collector Distributor Road in Las Vegas, resulting in the death of a woman and multiple individuals being taken to the hospital. The Nevada State Police reported that the crash involved multiple vehicles and a driver who was suspected of driving under the influence. The incident happened just before 5 p.m. on Wednesday, prompting a response from troopers to the scene north of Blue Diamond Road. The impaired driver was arrested at the crash site later that evening, as confirmed by authorities. The Collector Distributor Road operates as a separate highway lane adjacent to the I-15, directing traffic from entrance ramps and local streets to exit ramps and other highways at intersections, as stated by NSP. As a consequence of the crash, the northbound Collector Distributor section between Blue Diamond Road and the 215 interchange was shut down for several hours that Wednesday evening, with the closure extending to the Blue Diamond northbound on-ramp, according to NSP.
