
Fatal Peoria crash involving motorcyclist; underage driver without a license
A tragic incident occurred in Peoria Saturday evening resulting in the death of a 25-year-old man from East Peoria. The collision, which involved multiple vehicles, occurred at 9:35 p.m. when an unlicensed juvenile failed to stop at a sign, leading to a collision with a motorcycle, according to a spokesperson from the Illinois State Police. Following the initial impact, the motorcycle rider fell off and was unfortunately struck by another car traveling behind him, ultimately resulting in his death. The accident led to the closure of both lanes on the 3100 block of North University Street for several hours. The current conditions of the other drivers involved are not known and an autopsy for the motorcyclist is planned for the following day, according to Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood.
