Fatal pedestrian crash in West Monroe under investigation by Louisiana State Police
On Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at around 9:00 p.m., Louisiana State Police Troop F initiated an investigation into a tragic incident on Louisiana Highway 617 (Thomas Road) in Brownsville that resulted in the death of 48-year-old Aaron O’Donnell. Mr. O’Donnell was struck by a southbound 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe while crossing the road from west to east. Despite being transported to the hospital, he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the Hyundai was unharmed and showed no signs of impairment, with further tests pending. While the investigation is ongoing, authorities are emphasizing the importance of vigilance for both pedestrians and drivers to help prevent such accidents.
