Fatal pedestrian accident in Rostraver Township
Over the weekend in Rostraver Township, a tragic incident occurred when a man was fatally struck by a vehicle in the early hours of Saturday morning. Authorities from the Rostraver Township Police Department responded to a call about a pedestrian accident on Rostraver Road around 6:30 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered a man who had been hit by a vehicle and unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. The victim, identified as 52-year-old Darren Snyder of Monessen, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver involved in the incident remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement. Following the accident, Rostraver Road was temporarily closed for approximately two hours. The response effort involved support from various agencies including state police, the Monessen Police Department, and the Rostraver Fire Department.
