Fatal overnight accident on The Paseo results in driver's death and injuries to 3 passengers in Kansas City
Early Sunday morning in Kansas City, a car crashed into a tree on The Paseo, resulting in one fatality and three individuals hospitalized for injuries. The incident occurred when a gray Chevrolet Malibu, speeding southbound on The Paseo near 16th Street, lost control and collided with the tree. The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. Three passengers were also in the car during the crash. The front seat and left rear seat passengers sustained critical injuries, with the former in critical condition and the latter in serious condition. The right rear seat passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries and is in stable condition. Kansas City Police Department continues to investigate the incident, with this being the 54th fatality compared to 75 at the same time last year.
