Fatal Oroville crash linked to suspected DUI
California Highway Patrol Officers are currently investigating a fatal crash that happened on Wednesday night on Highway 162 in Oroville. A Dodge pickup truck was heading eastbound on Highway 162 when it veered into the opposite lane and collided with a westbound vehicle. Tragically, the driver of the westbound vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene. The pickup truck driver has been taken into custody under suspicion of driving under the influence. CHP has closed Highway 162 from Old Olive Highway to Forbestown Road as they continue their investigation and work to reopen the road.
