Fatal multivehicle accident shuts down US 6 in Spanish Fork

An elderly woman, aged 85, tragically passed away on Sunday night following a multi-car collision that led to the shutting down of a section of U.S. 6 in Spanish Fork. The incident occurred at 7:50 p.m. when a truck with a horse trailer crashed into several stationary vehicles at a red light on westbound U.S. 6 at Spanish Fork Parkway, as reported by the Spanish Fork Police Department. Lieutenant Cory Slaymaker shared that the aforementioned woman lost her life after being transported to a hospital, while another individual was taken to the hospital in serious condition. The truck involved in the collision was carrying four horses, one of which sustained a broken leg. Presently, U.S. 6 remains closed from Canyon Road to Spanish Fork Parkway as authorities investigate the accident and work on clearing the roadway. Detours are in place via Canyon Road.
