Fatal multi-vehicle crash results in pedestrian fatality on I-70 in east Columbus
A tragic accident occurred early Thursday morning on Interstate 70 in east Columbus, resulting in one fatality and one person hospitalized. Columbus police responded to the crash near Reynoldsburg at the Interstate 270 interchange and Brice Road just before 2 a.m. Two individuals were transported to a local hospital, one in critical condition and the other stable. The incident involved a 2003 Hyundai Sonata and a 2006 Saturn S2. A driver, attempting to pass a vehicle, collided with the Hyundai, leading to the tragic outcome. The roads were closed for about four hours following the accident for investigation and have since reopened. Witnesses or anyone with information regarding the crash are urged to contact the Columbus Police Accident Investigation Unit.
