Fatal multi-vehicle crash in Lakeland: PCSO
A tragic accident occurred in Lakeland on Saturday afternoon, resulting in two fatalities and three individuals being hospitalized as a result of a four-vehicle collision. The incident, which took place on Kathleen Road in front of Nick and Moe's gas station, involved a Nissan driven by Rylee Hill, 23. Hill lost control of her vehicle and collided with multiple other vehicles, including a Kia, a Dodge truck, and an Audi SUV, resulting in the deaths of Hill and a passenger in the Audi, identified as 79-year-old Annette Zalner. Several others involved in the crash were hospitalized with injuries. The Polk County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident and suspects that excessive speeding may have been a factor. The road was closed for six hours following the crash.
