
Fatal multi-vehicle crash closes I-45 North lanes at Main Street
A fatal accident occurred on the North Freeway in Houston early Thursday morning, resulting in one person's death and injuries to others. The incident led to the closure of all northbound lanes of I-45 North after N Main Street. Authorities were alerted to a crash involving multiple vehicles in the 2700 block of North Freeway around 3:10 a.m. Initial reports indicate that a gray Mazda 3 was speeding northbound on I-45 North when the driver lost control, hit a barrier, and rolled several times before coming to a stop in the middle of the freeway. Tragically, the driver was ejected from the Mazda and pronounced dead at the scene. Another motorist driving a blue Lexus RX350, who had exited their vehicle and was standing on the freeway, struck the Mazda. A subsequent collision involving a white Ford Fusion and a white Honda Civic ensued. The Lexus driver was taken to a hospital in stable condition.
