Fatal multi-car collision in Tracy reported by CHP on Saturday morning
Early Saturday morning, a tragic multi-vehicle collision occurred on Interstate 205 in Tracy, resulting in one fatality. The California Highway Patrol reported that at approximately 6:05 a.m., authorities were called to the scene of a three-vehicle accident on eastbound I-205, just east of MacArthur Drive. The crash involved two tractor-trailers and a Toyota truck. According to officials, the Toyota inexplicably veered across the interstate towards the right-hand shoulder where a disabled semi-truck was parked. The Toyota collided with the rear of the semi's trailer, and a passenger in the Toyota was fatally ejected from the vehicle at the scene. The CHP is currently investigating the incident, noting that alcohol or drugs do not appear to have played a role in the collision.
