Fatal multi-car accident on I-80/94 in South Chicago suburbs
An unfortunate accident occurred near the junction of I-80/94 and Illinois Route 394 in Lansing, a suburb of south Chicago, resulting in a fatality. The incident involved two cars and a semi-trailer truck. According to the Illinois State Police, the crash began at 4:31 p.m. when a car stalled in the eastbound lanes of I-80 west of Torrence Avenue and was rear-ended by another car. The second car then collided with the semi-trailer truck in another lane. Tragically, the driver of the second car was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the first car was transported to a local hospital with unspecified injuries. Traffic coming off the Tri-State Tollway onto eastbound I-80/94 was delayed, with only the far-right lane open for vehicles to pass.
