Fatal motorcycle crash under investigation
A motorcyclist has tragically passed away following a serious collision on the Westbank in Jefferson Parish. According to Sheriff Joe Lopinto, the incident occurred just before 1:30 am at the intersection of Holmes Blvd. and Athena Ave. Upon arriving at the scene, deputies found the rider had been thrown from the motorcycle. Despite receiving medical attention from emergency services, the individual succumbed to their injuries on site. The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office suspects that the motorcycle was traveling northbound on Holmes Boulevard leading up to the accident. Authorities believe the rider lost control after colliding with a barrier on the road. No other vehicles were reportedly involved in the incident.
