Fatal motorcycle crash on US 127 under investigation by Mercer County Sheriff’s Office
The Mercer County Sheriff's Office is currently looking into a tragic incident that occurred on Sunday evening at the intersection of U.S. 127 and State Road 274. County dispatchers were alerted to a collision between a pickup truck and a motorcycle, resulting in the passing of 45-year-old Timothy Betts. The motorcyclist was attempting to overtake multiple vehicles in a no-passing zone when the collision occurred as the truck made a left turn. Despite being transported to the hospital by authorities, Betts did not survive the crash. The investigation is ongoing and will be reviewed by the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office. This unfortunate event marked the fourth fatal accident in Mercer County this year.
