Fatal motorcycle crash on I-90 near Butte
A 67-year-old man lost his life in a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred on I-90 near Butte in Silver Bow County on the afternoon of May 30th, 2025. According to the Montana Highway Patrol (MHP), the incident happened at around 3:22 PM in the westbound lanes of the highway. The crash involved a Toyota Tacoma and a Honda motorcycle traveling in the same direction. The motorcycle veered out of its lane, causing a collision with the Tacoma during a passing maneuver on a curve. Despite efforts to avoid the collision, the Tacoma struck the motorcycle, causing it to roll over and leading to the rider's injuries. The rider was later pronounced dead at the hospital. MHP has ruled out alcohol and speed as contributing factors in the accident.
