Fatal motorcycle crash on I-880
A tragic incident occurred on Interstate Highway 880 in Oakland on Sunday afternoon, resulting in the death of a motorcyclist, as reported by the California Highway Patrol. Responding to a call at 4:40 p.m. about a collision between a vehicle and a motorcycle on southbound I-880 near Hegenberger Road, emergency services arrived and confirmed the motorcyclist's passing at the location. Lanes 3 and 4 on I-880 south were briefly closed following the incident; however, as of 7 p.m., all lanes have been reopened. Authorities are still investigating the crash, with no confirmation yet as to whether alcohol or drugs were involved in the collision, stated the CHP.
