
Fatal motorcycle crash in Town of Spring Prairie leaves one dead and two injured
A tragic accident occurred in the Town of Spring Prairie, Wisconsin, resulting in the death of a man and serious injuries to two others. The incident involved a three-wheeled motorcycle colliding with an SUV on Saturday morning. The motorcycle driver, identified as 73-year-old Mark Weis from Burlington, passed away at the crash site. A passenger from the motorcycle and the SUV driver were both hospitalized with significant injuries. The Walworth County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene at Hwy. 11 and County Hwy. JS in the Town of Sun Prairie around 9:30 a.m. on July 5, where they found the vehicles with visible damage. Authorities believe that the motorcycle struck the side of the SUV as the SUV attempted a left turn onto Hwy. 11 from a stop sign. It is noted that neither person on the motorcycle was wearing a helmet. An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the accident. According to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, approximately 99 motorcyclists are fatally injured in accidents each year.
