Fatal motorcycle crash in Sanbornton prompts one fatality

The Sanbornton Police Department is currently investigating a fatal accident that occurred on Route 132. The incident, which took place around 3:08 p.m. on Saturday, involved a motorcyclist colliding with a tree after veering off the road while navigating a curve. The individual, a 52-year-old man, tragically lost his life at the scene. The police department has chosen not to release the name of the motorcyclist as of 8:15 a.m. on Sunday, to allow the family time to inform relatives. Following the crash, a portion of Route 132 near the Isaac Colby Road intersection was closed for several hours until approximately 8:15 p.m. the same day. The latest data from the NH Office of Highway Safety indicated that, as of October 6, there were 101 traffic-related fatalities in New Hampshire, including 24 from motorcycle accidents. These figures do not encompass the recent crash in Francestown on October 7, nor the Sanbornton incident. From January 1, 2024, to October 6, 2024, there were a total of 104 traffic fatalities, with the year concluding at 135 deaths, marking the fifth-highest number of traffic fatalities recorded in state history.
