Fatal motorcycle crash in Missoula County leaves 1 dead, child injured

A tragic incident occurred on Sunday, September 7, 2025, in Missoula County when a 60-year-old man lost his life and a 10-year-old girl was injured in a motorcycle accident near mile marker 101 along Interstate 90 at around 6:50 p.m. According to the Montana Highway Patrol, the crash occurred near the Reserve Street exit on the north side of Missoula. The driver, who was traveling east on I-90, veered off the road, crashing through a chain-link fence before the motorcycle rolled onto its side. Both individuals were taken to a Missoula hospital, where the man succumbed to his injuries. The girl's name has not been revealed, but her family has shared that her injuries are not life-threatening. The man was a resident of Arlee, as reported by the MHP, and both riders were wearing helmets at the time of the accident. Authorities have determined that alcohol or drugs did not play a role in the crash.
