Fatal motorcycle crash in Macon County.
A motorcyclist tragically passed away as a result of an accident in Macon County on Wednesday morning. The incident occurred at Angle Crossing and Stare Roads at 7 a.m. on Sept. 3, where the Macon County Sheriff's Office responded to a single vehicle accident involving a motorcycle veering off the road. The rider, identified as a 68-year-old male from Oakley, was initially taken to Decatur Memorial Hospital in a conscious state but his condition deteriorated. He was later airlifted to Springfield Memorial Hospital where he eventually succumbed to his injuries. The identity of the rider is being withheld until his family is informed by the Sangamon County Coroner's Office. The Macon County Sheriff's Office is conducting an investigation into the incident.
