Fatal motorcycle crash in Derry claims life of Hampstead woman
A woman from Hampstead tragically passed away, and a man was injured during a motorcycle accident in Derry on July 4, according to the police. The incident occurred at the intersection of East Derry Road and Pond Road around 5:40 p.m. The motorcycle driver, Colin Hanlon, 57, sustained multiple injuries but was conscious. The passenger, Erin Hanlon, 56, also from Hampstead, was discovered unresponsive on the road. Both individuals were transported to Elliott Hospital, where Erin Hanlon was declared deceased shortly after arrival. The road was closed but later reopened around 10 p.m. The authorities are conducting an investigation into the crash and urge anyone with pertinent information to contact Lt.
