Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Chesterfield
A motorcyclist tragically lost their life in a collision at an intersection in Chesterfield County on Friday night. The incident occurred around 7 p.m. at the junction of Hopkins and Beulah roads. The Chesterfield County Police Department reported that a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta collided with a 2023 Honda Motorcycle as the Jetta attempted to turn left onto Beulah Road from southbound Hopkins Road, striking the northbound motorcycle. The motorcyclist was transported to a nearby hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries. The identity of the victim has not been disclosed pending notification of their family. The driver of the Jetta was uninjured. Authorities are on the scene supporting the investigation, and at this time, no further details are available. The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has shut down all lanes in the vicinity of the crash, both eastbound and westbound, with the closure expected to continue for a few hours.
