Fatal motorcycle crash closes North Freeway lanes at Cypresswood
HOUSTON (KIAH) — A fatal motorcycle crash on the North Freeway has resulted in all northbound lanes being shut down, causing traffic headaches on Thursday afternoon. The crash happened around 2:20 p.m. Thursday at I-45 North at Cypresswood, the Harris County Sheriff's Office said. A motorcycle and a tow truck were involved in the accident. HCSO units at the scene said that one person was declared dead at the scene. No word on any other injuries. The crash has led to the shutdown of all lanes on I-45 North to allow emergency crews to work the scene. All traffic on the freeway is diverted at the Parramatta exit. An alternate route for drivers on I-45 North is to exit FM 1960 West and stay on the feeder or take the Hardy Toll Road or Aldine-Westfield Road northbound.
