
Fatal motorcycle collision with moose on Route 7 in Great Barrington
A man tragically passed away following a collision between a motorcycle and a moose on Route 7 in Great Barrington last Thursday. The Berkshire District Attorney's Office reported that the accident occurred around 10:34 p.m. between the Great Barrington Recycling Center and the Monument Mountain Trustees Reservation parking lot. Law enforcement found both the motorcyclist and the moose on the road upon arrival. The victim, identified as 20-year-old Wyeth Curtis, and the moose were fatally injured in the collision. After the impact, the motorcycle continued traveling southbound without its driver, leading to another collision in the northbound lane with two vehicles. The incident involved multiple agencies, including the Great Barrington Police Department, Southern Berkshire EMS, Massachusetts State Police, and the Berkshire State Police Detective Unit.
