Fatal motorcycle accident near Minnesota State Fairgrounds
A tragic motorcycle accident occurred on Thursday night just north of the Minnesota State Fairgrounds in Falcon Heights, resulting in the death of a young man from Coon Rapids, Minnesota. The incident took place at the junction of Snelling and Garden avenues around 10:21 p.m. A motorcycle traveling north on Snelling collided with a southbound SUV that was making a turn onto Garden. The passenger on the motorcycle, a 25-year-old woman from Scandia, survived the crash with non-life threatening injuries. Regrettably, neither the driver nor the passenger on the motorcycle were wearing helmets. The SUV driver, a 28-year-old woman from Roseville, was unharmed. While the state patrol is investigating the incident, it remains uncertain whether alcohol was a contributing factor, although the SUV driver was found not to be under the influence.
