Fatal motorcycle accident closes I-75 in Wesley Chapel
The Florida Highway Patrol is currently investigating a fatal collision between a motorcycle and a semi-truck that caused the closure of the northbound lanes on I-75 in Wesley Chapel. The incident occurred near the Overpass Rd exit, resulting in the death of the motorcycle rider, a 40-year-old man from Webster. Traffic on the northbound side was heavily congested, with vehicles being rerouted off at CR 54/SR 54 (Exit 279). Motorists were advised to steer clear of the area until the interstate was reopened. As of now, I-75 has resumed normal traffic flow.
