Fatal motorcycle accident causes major traffic congestion near Irvine Spectrum on 405 freeway

The southbound 405 Freeway in Irvine was closed on Tuesday morning following a fatal motorcycle accident. According to investigators, a collision occurred between a motorcyclist and an SUV in the southbound lanes near the Irvine Spectrum and 5 Freeway interchange. The motorcyclist, who was not identified, was pronounced dead at the scene, while it remained uncertain whether the SUV driver sustained injuries. The incident marked the fourth motorcycle crash reported that morning, causing a complete closure of the southbound lanes for investigation.
