Fatal Merkel Car Crash Involves Clyde Teen, Injures 3 - KTAB

A tragic car accident in Merkel, Texas resulted in the death of a teenager from Clyde and injuries to three others. The incident occurred on Business I-20, or North 1st Street, at around 7:04 p.m. on March 21. The accident involved a sedan with four occupants, including teenagers, and an SUV with two individuals. The collision occurred when the sedan traveling west collided with the SUV turning left into Humphries Village. Emergency crews responded, and one teenage male passenger from the sedan passed away later in the hospital. Another teenage female passenger sustained serious injuries, while the driver of the sedan was in critical but stable condition after being airlifted to the hospital. Sadly, it was noted that none of the sedan passengers were wearing seatbelts during the crash. A memorial service will be held at Clyde Methodist Church to commemorate the life lost, pray for the injured, and support their families. The investigation into the accident continues, with condolences extended to all those affected by this tragedy.
