Fatal Long Beach Car Accident on Seventh Street Claims Life of Man Riding Scooter

A man on a scooter tragically lost his life early Monday morning in Long Beach after a collision with a vehicle on Seventh Street. The incident occurred around 3:20 a.m. near Seventh Street and Federation Drive, close to Recreation Park. Despite efforts by the Long Beach Police Department to assist the victim, he later passed away in the hospital due to his injuries. The man was riding the scooter in the southbound direction outside of a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a Hyundai Accent driven by a 28-year-old Laguna Beach resident traveling eastbound on Seventh Street. Fortunately, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities, with investigations ruling out speed, distracted driving, and impairment as causes of the crash.
