Fatal Kingwood crash; John Nathan Dool charged with manslaughter

A man, identified as John Nathan Dool, has been accused in a tragic crash in Kingwood which resulted in the loss of a couple's life on Sunday, according to Houston police. Dool, 40, faces two charges of intoxication manslaughter as authorities confirmed he was under the influence at the time of the incident. The collision happened on Sunday evening at the intersection of West Lake Houston Parkway and Magnolia Cove Drive. Reports indicate that Dool was speeding in a pickup truck on West Lake Houston Parkway, striking an SUV carrying 60-year-old Curtis Van Diest and 66-year-old Catherine Van Diest, who had stopped at a stop sign on Magnolia Cove Drive. The impact caused the SUV to be pushed by the truck, resulting in a collision with a pole and the truck overturning. Unfortunately, the Van Diests lost their lives in the accident. Dool survived with injuries and was hospitalized in stable condition, where he was charged in connection with the crash.
