Fatal Jet Ski crash in Grand Haven Township leads to man's death.
A tragic incident occurred in Grand Haven Township, Michigan, as a 28-year-old man lost his life in a Jet Ski accident on Sunday night. The accident took place on Ammeraal Avenue near Mercury Drive when the man collided with a navigational buoy while riding on the Grand River. Sadly, the man and his 18-year-old passenger were not wearing life jackets at the time. The woman was able to get back on the Jet Ski with the help of some nearby boaters, but the man went under the water and did not resurface. Despite efforts from Good Samaritans, it was the sheriff’s office dive team using side-scan sonar that located the man's body in approximately 10 feet of water. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman suffered minor injuries and was treated on site before being released. The authorities are still investigating this heartbreaking incident.
