
Fatal jet crash near Granite Falls airport
A jet crash near Granite Falls Municipal Airport in Minnesota on Monday evening resulted in one fatality and one injury, according to the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff's Office. The incident involved a jet carrying two people that experienced engine trouble around 5:23 p.m. near the airport. Roughly 10 minutes later, a 911 call reported the crash near Highway 23 and 540th Street. Emergency responders found one person from the aircraft at the scene, who received medical attention, while the second individual was found deceased. The National Transportation Safety Board has confirmed the aircraft as an Aero L-39, described as a trainer and light fighter jet by the manufacturer. Investigations are being carried out by the NTSB and the Federal Aviation Administration, as reported by the sheriff's office.
