Fatal hit-and-run in University City, Philadelphia.
A tragic incident unfolded in University City on Thursday morning as a woman was fatally hit by a vehicle. Philadelphia police responded to the scene at 33rd and Market streets at approximately 4 a.m. where the woman had been struck and sadly could not be saved. The victim, a 48-year-old woman, was walking to work with colleagues when a silver Chrysler 300 sedan collided with her. The Chrysler driver fled the scene, but police have the license plate information and are actively investigating. Situated near Drexel University's campus and close to 30th Street Station, this area is currently the focus of ongoing police efforts.
