Fatal hit-and-run in Denver leaves one dead, one injured; suspect flees on foot

The incident occurred at approximately 1 a.m. on Saturday at the Speer Boulevard on-ramp to northbound Interstate 25. Law enforcement reported that two individuals were taken to the hospital, with one later succumbing to their injuries and the other sustaining minor wounds. The hit-and-run driver fled the scene on foot, and their details are currently unknown. The deceased individual's identity will be disclosed by the Denver Medical Examiner's Office at a later date. The on-ramp remained closed for several hours post-accident. This tragedy is one of three fatal hit-and-run collisions that occurred in the Denver area on Friday night and into Saturday morning, involving a 16-year-old on an electric scooter in Aurora and a pedestrian in Westminster.
