Fatal hit-and-run causes rollover crash in Miami's Liberty City
A fatal rollover crash in northwestern Miami on Saturday morning resulted in one death and hospitalization of four individuals, according to officials. The incident occurred near NW 54th St. 17th Ave. in the Liberty City neighborhood. A "mass casualty incident" was declared by first responders from the City of Miami Fire Rescue as they encountered a single-car accident with multiple injuries. Additional resources were dispatched, including the Miami Technical Rescue Team, who extricated a trapped woman using hydraulic tools. Six patients were treated on the scene, with five transported to Ryder Trauma Center and Jackson Memorial Hospital for medical attention. Miami Police are investigating the crash as a hit-and-run, with Traffic Homicide detectives actively searching for the responsible individual.
