Fatal Highway 30 crash claims life of Johnston man
A tragic incident occurred in Story County, Iowa, where a fatal head-on collision took place east of Ames. The accident, which occurred on Wednesday night at Highway 30 and Sand Hill Trail, resulted in the death of a man from Johnston and the hospitalization of a woman from Slater. The Story County Sheriff's Office reported that the collision involved a Jeep Renegade driven by Ashley Taylor, 41, traveling in the wrong direction (westbound in the eastbound lanes of Highway 30) and colliding head-on with a Chevy Impala. The driver of the Impala, Christian Royston, 26, was pronounced dead at the scene, while Taylor was airlifted to a Des Moines hospital with serious injuries. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the crash.
