Fatal high-speed crash in northern Colorado involving motorcycle
Two individuals have tragically lost their lives in northern Colorado following a high-speed motorcycle accident that resulted in a fiery crash. According to the Greeley Police Department, the incident occurred at 9:40 p.m. on Friday when a motorcyclist was traveling west on 10th Street at speeds exceeding 100 mph and ran a red light at the intersection of 35th Avenue. The collision between the motorcycle and a southbound vehicle led to a fire, involving a total of five vehicles. Unfortunately, both the 19-year-old driver of the southbound vehicle and the motorcyclist were pronounced dead at the scene. Law enforcement is currently working to identify the motorcyclist, with the Weld County Coroner's Office set to disclose the victims' identities once their next of kin have been notified. The Greeley Police Department expressed gratitude to the Greeley Fire Department and City Streets Department for their swift response in extinguishing the fire and potentially saving others involved in the incident. The authorities are conducting an ongoing investigation into the crash and have not yet determined if alcohol or drugs played a role. Individuals with relevant information about the accident are urged to contact Officer Ashton Steeley at [email protected].
