Fatal head-on crash on Buffalo Skyway: 1 dead, 2 seriously hurt
The Buffalo Police report that a tragic head-on collision occurred on the Skyway resulting in one fatality and two individuals sustaining serious injuries. The incident involved two cars and occurred around 11:30 p.m. at the Skyway's inbound section. The collision was caused by one vehicle traveling in the opposite direction at a high rate of speed. In total, three individuals were involved, with a female passenger tragically losing her life at the crash site. Both drivers were rushed to ECMC with severe injuries. Following the accident, the Skyway was closed for approximately five hours in both directions, reopening on Friday morning.
