Fatal head-on crash in Grant County
A tragic incident occurred in Grant County where a woman lost her life in a head-on collision between a BMW and a Chevrolet on State Road 18 near State Road 13. The collision occurred at 4:14 p.m., and emergency services were alerted to the scene. One driver was entrapped in their vehicle, while the other vehicle caught fire. Bystanders heroically rescued the driver from the burning vehicle, who was airlifted to a hospital with severe injuries. The entrapped driver, a 45-year-old woman from Marion, unfortunately passed away at the hospital. Reports suggest the BMW, allegedly being driven recklessly, crossed the centerline, leading to the collision. Both vehicles had only the drivers inside at the time of the incident.
