
Fatal head-on collision shuts down 120th Avenue in Brighton on Tuesday evening
Update: An unfortunate incident occurred as a result of a three-car collision at the junction of 120th Avenue and Sable Boulevard in Brighton, reported by the Colorado State Patrol. Details reveal that the crash transpired on Tuesday evening and led to the closure of East 120th Avenue and Sable Boulevard. The collision involved a 2017 GMC Sierra, a 2017 Ford Escape, and a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee, according to CSP. The GMC, traveling west on East 120th Avenue, struck the rear of the Ford before colliding head-on with the eastbound Jeep. Tragically, the 48-year-old male driver of the GMC lost his life in the accident. While the identity of the deceased driver is being handled by the Adams County Coroner's Office, a 5-year-old child from the GMC sustained minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. Fortunately, the 24-year-old Ford driver remained unharmed, whereas the 48-year-old male and 44-year-old female occupants of the Jeep were hospitalized with moderate injuries. Colorado State Patrol is actively conducting an investigation into the crash, and as of Tuesday night, the cause has not yet been determined. At approximately 11 p.m. on Tuesday, the section around East 120th Avenue and Sable Boulevard was shut down, with no specified time for reopening.
