Fatal head-on collision on Talladega County highway
A fatal accident occurred in Talladega County on Saturday, resulting in one fatality and two others sustaining serious injuries. The incident took place on Alabama 21 near Garrison Lane, approximately five miles north of Talladega. The highway was shut down in both directions for several hours following the collision. Sonia Stoddard, aged 60 and from Alexandria, was driving a 2017 Nissan Rogue that collided head-on with a 2016 Jeep Patriot. Unfortunately, Stoddard was pronounced dead at the crash site. The injured passengers were airlifted to UAB Hospital in Birmingham for treatment. Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division is currently investigating the accident.
