Fatal head-on collision on South Side results in 2 deaths and 1 injury
A crash on the South Side of the city resulted in the loss of two lives and one person being hospitalized on Tuesday afternoon. The incident occurred when a sedan, driven by a 21-year-old, collided head-on with an SUV on 87th Street. The SUV, with a 73-year-old driver and a 76-year-old passenger, was attempting a left turn on California Avenue. Tragically, both SUV occupants lost their lives after being taken to Christ Hospital. The sedan driver, who sustained a right leg injury, was also hospitalized at Christ Hospital and is in fair condition. He was cited for Failure to Reduce Speed, and authorities from Major Accidents are investigating the crash.
