Fatal head-on collision on Northland Drive near Sand Lake
Tragically, one individual has passed away and two others have been injured following a collision early Wednesday morning on Northland Drive between Cedar Springs and Sand Lake. The incident occurred around 6 a.m. between Coan Street and Ritchie Avenue, where a southbound vehicle veered across the center line and collided head-on with a northbound vehicle, as reported by the Kent County Sheriff's Office. The impact of the crash also involved another car traveling south on Northland Drive. The driver of the northbound vehicle, identified as a 63-year-old man from Howard City, was pronounced dead at the scene. Both the 26-year-old driver at fault for crossing the center line from Morley and the 37-year-old man from Trufant sustained serious injuries and were transported to the hospital, with one being airlifted for medical treatment.
