Fatal head-on collision on Highway 99 claims life of 21-year-old Elk Grove resident, multiple others hurt
On Monday morning, there was a tragic head-on collision on Highway 99 that resulted in the death of an Elk Grove man and injuries to several others. The California Highway Patrol responded to the crash, which involved three vehicles and occurred south of Hammatt Avenue. A 21-year-old Elk Grove man was driving a Chevrolet Malibu sedan in the wrong direction when he collided with a 41-year-old San Bernardino man driving a Toyota Camry sedan. The collision resulted in a fatality and injuries to occupants of the vehicles involved. The crash is currently under investigation, and it is uncertain if drugs or alcohol played a role.
