
Fatal head-on collision on Highway 70 in Yuba County results in 2 deaths, 4 injuries
Two individuals have lost their lives and four others, including two children, have sustained injuries following a head-on collision that blocked parts of Highway 70 north of Marysville on Friday afternoon, as reported by the California Highway Patrol. The incident involved two vehicles and occurred near Boyer Road around 3:15 p.m. The CHP investigation revealed that an 18-year-old male from Brentwood was driving a Toyota Camry south on Highway 70 but lost control, veering into the northbound lanes and colliding with a Honda CR-V. The 41-year-old male driver of the CR-V from Roseville passed away, while a 34-year-old female passenger from the same vehicle succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. Two children aged 4 and 8 who were also in the CR-V sustained severe injuries and were hospitalized. Moreover, the Camry driver and his 18-year-old female passenger were also hospitalized with serious injuries. The CHP mentioned that it is undetermined if impairment was a factor in the crash, and as a result, Highway 70 remained closed for over two hours.
