
Fatal head-on collision on Highway 70 in Marysville kills 3, injures 3, authorities report
A tragic car accident in Marysville resulted in three fatalities and three individuals sustaining injuries, according to the Marysville Police Department. The collision occurred on Highway 70 near 24th Street on Saturday around 2:45 p.m., involving two vehicles in a head-on crash. The road was closed in both directions for several hours following the incident. The vehicle with five occupants collided with the other vehicle, which had only the driver inside. Among the injured, one person had to be airlifted to the hospital, and a minor was among those taken for medical treatment. While the exact cause of the crash is still under investigation, authorities suspect that speed may have played a role. The Marysville Police Department, in conjunction with the Yuba County Sheriff's Office, is conducting the investigation. As of now, the identities of the victims have not been disclosed.
