
Fatal Head-On Collision On Highway 35 In Polk County
POLK COUNTY -- One person is dead and two others were injured following a three-vehicle crash on Highway 35 near Milltown, according to a press release from the Polk County Sheriff's Office. PRESS RELEASE On Friday, May 23, 2025, at 3:24 PM, the Polk County Sheriff's Office Emergency Call Center received a report of a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 35 south of 210th ave south of the village of Milltown. The crash involved 3 vehicles. Northbound traffic slowed due to wildlife crossing the highway, a northbound pickup truck swerved to avoid rear-ending the slowing traffic, but stuck a vehicle, glanced off, and went into southbound traffic colliding head-on with an SUV. The driver of the SUV was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver of the pickup had non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the rear-ended vehicle had minor injuries. The name of the deceased driver will be released at a later date. The crash remains under investigation by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State Patrol, and Polk County Medical Examiner.
